About

The Department of Plastic Surgery at Fakultní nemocnice Královské Vinohrady (FNKV) in Prague's Vinohrady district is the oldest and largest plastic surgery centre in the Czech Republic. It was founded in the first half of the 20th century by Professor František Burian, one of the founders of plastic surgery in Europe, and has held a leading position in the field ever since. The department performs more than 8,000 surgical procedures a year across the full breadth of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery — and is the only training centre in Bohemia accredited at the highest level for educating future plastic surgeons. For self-pay aesthetic patients, this means cosmetic procedures are carried out by board-certified surgeons who also operate daily in reconstruction, microsurgery and hand trauma, within a full university hospital: 24-hour physician cover, an on-site anaesthesiology and resuscitation team, intensive care units, in-house laboratories and imaging, and the largest above-standard inpatient ward capacity in the country. The aesthetic portfolio covers eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, facelift and mini-facelift, otoplasty, breast augmentation, lift and reduction, gynecomastia surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction, arm and thigh lifts, facial fat transfer and cosmetic skin lesion removal — all listed on an official public price list valid from July 2025. Adult outpatient consultations run Monday to Friday with walk-in availability, and online booking is available through the hospital's appointment system.

tummy-tuck

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Full and mini tummy tuck surgery at the Czech Republic's largest plastic surgery department. Abdominoplasty removes the loose skin apron and tightens separated abdominal muscles (diastasis) after pregnancy or major weight loss — changes that no amount of exercise can correct. FNKV offers the full procedure at 70,000 Kč under general anaesthesia, with combined liposuction options for flank contouring, performed with an inpatient stay under 24-hour university-hospital monitoring.

facial-rejuvenation

Facial Fat Transfer (Lipofilling)

Facial volume restoration using the patient's own fat at FNKV's plastic surgery department. A small amount of fat is harvested by gentle liposuction, processed, and micro-injected into hollow areas — tear troughs, cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds or lips — replacing lost volume with living tissue rather than temporary filler. The department's microsurgical and reconstructive background (lipofilling is also used in its breast reconstruction programme) underpins the grafting technique. One area costs 20,000 Kč; multiple areas 36,000 Kč; planned top-ups 9,500 Kč.

body-contouring

Arm Lift & Thigh Lift

Surgical correction of loose, hanging skin on the upper arms (brachioplasty) and inner thighs (thigh lift) at FNKV's plastic surgery department — the body-contouring procedures most needed after major weight loss, when skin cannot retract over the reduced volume. Both are performed under general anaesthesia with an inpatient stay at fixed published prices (arms 45,000 Kč, thighs 65,000 Kč), by a department that also handles complex reconstructive body surgery.

Kč 45,000

lip-enhancement

Lip Augmentation with Own Tissue

Surgical lip enhancement at FNKV's plastic surgery department using the patient's own local tissue rather than injectable filler. Techniques such as V-Y mucosal advancement roll the inner lip tissue outward to create permanent fullness and a more defined vermilion border — a one-time procedure under local anaesthesia at 20,000 Kč, with no foreign material and no repeat top-ups required.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation with silicone implants at the Czech Republic's largest plastic surgery department — a centre that also performs breast reconstruction after cancer and risk-reducing surgery for BRCA-positive patients, giving its surgeons exceptional depth in breast anatomy. Surgery is under general anaesthesia with an inpatient stay in a university hospital, and the published surgical fee (49,000 Kč + implants for both breasts) keeps total costs well below Western European levels. A combined augmentation-mastopexy is available for patients with both volume loss and sagging.

Gynecomastia Surgery (Male Breast Reduction)

Surgical correction of gynecomastia (enlarged male breast tissue) at FNKV's plastic surgery department. The glandular tissue is removed through a discreet periareolar incision, with optional liposuction of surrounding fat for a flat, masculine chest contour. Performed under general anaesthesia in a university hospital setting at a fixed published price of 30,000 Kč (40,000 Kč with liposuction) — and removed tissue is examined histologically as standard.

liposuction

Liposuction

Surgical fat removal at FNKV's plastic surgery department, from single-area tumescent liposuction under local anaesthesia (15,000 Kč) to large-extent body contouring under general anaesthesia (55,000 Kč). Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from diet-resistant deposits — outer thighs, abdomen, flanks, knees, chin — and at FNKV it can also be combined with abdominoplasty or gynecomastia surgery in a single anaesthetic. All prices are fixed on the hospital's official list.

eyelid-surgery

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Upper and lower eyelid surgery at the Czech Republic's oldest and largest plastic surgery department. Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and redistributes or removes fat pads to correct hooded upper lids and under-eye bags — one of the most effective facial rejuvenation procedures relative to its downtime. At FNKV, most eyelid procedures are performed under local anaesthesia as day surgery by board-certified plastic surgeons, with general anaesthesia and combined upper-and-lower options available, all at fixed published prices.

Breast Reduction & Breast Lift

Breast reduction and breast lift (mastopexy) at FNKV's dedicated breast surgery centre. Reduction removes excess glandular tissue and skin to relieve neck, back and shoulder strain while lifting and reshaping the breast; mastopexy restores the position and shape of sagging breasts without changing volume. Both are performed under general anaesthesia with an inpatient stay at a university hospital, by surgeons who also carry out oncological breast reconstruction — at published fixed prices (both-breast reduction 75,000 Kč, lift 70,000 Kč).

rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

Cosmetic nose surgery at FNKV's plastic surgery department, ranging from soft-tissue tip refinement to full rhinoplasty of the bony and cartilaginous framework. Surgeons here also perform complex post-traumatic and reconstructive nasal surgery — including facial trauma cases through the FNKV trauma centre — so cosmetic patients benefit from an unusually deep structural experience. Full rhinoplasty under general anaesthesia is 45,000 Kč, a fraction of Western European pricing for a teaching-hospital setting.

consultation

Aesthetic Surgery Consultation

A pre-operative aesthetic surgery consultation at the FNKV Department of Plastic Surgery — the oldest and largest plastic surgery centre in the Czech Republic. A board-certified plastic surgeon assesses your concern, explains the suitable surgical options, anaesthesia choice (local vs general), realistic outcomes and risks, and provides an exact quote from the hospital's official public price list. Adult walk-in consultations are available every weekday morning, an unusually accessible arrangement for a centre of this standing.

facelift

Facelift & Mini-Facelift

Surgical facial rejuvenation at the Czech Republic's largest plastic surgery department — from a mini-facelift under local anaesthesia targeting jowls and lower-face laxity, to a full facelift under general anaesthesia repositioning deeper tissues of the face and neck. The clinic's published menu also covers browlift, necklift and chin liposuction, making combined lower-and-upper-face plans possible within one institution. A full facelift at 75,000 Kč (~€3,000) is among the most competitive teaching-hospital facelift prices in Central Europe.

mole-removal

Cosmetic Skin Lesion & Mole Removal

Surgical removal of moles, skin tags and other benign skin lesions for cosmetic reasons at FNKV's plastic surgery department — the same department that surgically treats skin cancer, so every lesion is assessed and excised with oncological discipline and plastic-surgical closure for the finest possible scar. Skin tags cost from 300 Kč, small cosmetic excisions 1,500 Kč, with multi-lesion discounts in the same session.

otoplasty

Otoplasty (Ear Correction)

Correction of protruding ears at FNKV's plastic surgery department, performed under local anaesthesia as day surgery. Through an incision hidden behind the ear, the cartilage is reshaped and the ear set closer to the head in natural proportions. The department also runs the country's leading paediatric plastic surgery centre, so both adults and children are treated by surgeons with extensive congenital ear-deformity experience. Torn or stretched earlobes (from heavy earrings or piercings) are repaired from 4,000 Kč.
