Upper and lower eyelid surgery at the Czech Republic's oldest and largest plastic surgery department. Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and redistributes or removes fat pads to correct hooded upper lids and under-eye bags — one of the most effective facial rejuvenation procedures relative to its downtime. At FNKV, most eyelid procedures are performed under local anaesthesia as day surgery by board-certified plastic surgeons, with general anaesthesia and combined upper-and-lower options available, all at fixed published prices.
About this treatment
Blepharoplasty addresses the two most common periorbital ageing changes: excess upper eyelid skin (dermatochalasis), which creates a hooded, tired appearance and in severe cases restricts the visual field, and lower eyelid fat pad prolapse, which produces persistent under-eye bags that no skincare can correct.
Upper eyelid surgery
Through an incision hidden in the natural eyelid crease, the surgeon removes a measured ellipse of excess skin and, where needed, a portion of the orbicularis muscle and protruding fat. The scar settles into the crease and is essentially invisible once matured. Under local anaesthesia the procedure takes roughly 45–60 minutes and patients go home the same day.
