Liposuction

Liposuction remains the reference method for removing localised, diet-resistant fat deposits: it physically removes adipocytes, so treated areas hold their improved contour as long as weight stays broadly stable. **Tumescent technique (single area, 15,000 Kč, local anaesthesia):** The target area is infiltrated with dilute local anaesthetic and adrenaline solution, which numbs the tissue, minimises bleeding, and allows comfortable awake liposuction of one zone — such as the chin, knees, or a single thigh region — as day surgery without general anaesthesia. **General anaesthesia liposuction (35,000–55,000 Kč by extent):** For multiple zones or larger volumes — full abdomen and flanks, circumferential thighs — surgery under general anaesthesia allows thorough, symmetric contouring in one session. The price bands by extent (small / medium / large) are published on the official hospital list, so the consultation quote is predictable. **What liposuction is and isn't:** It is a contouring procedure for normal-weight or moderately overweight patients with disproportionate fat deposits — not a weight-loss method. Skin with good elasticity retracts over the reduced volume; where significant skin laxity coexists (typically post-pregnancy abdomen), the surgeon will recommend combining with or substituting abdominoplasty, both available in-house. **Recovery:** A compression garment is worn for 4–6 weeks. Bruising and swelling settle over 2–4 weeks; the final contour emerges at 3–6 months as residual swelling resolves. Local-anaesthesia single-area patients typically return to work within days. **Setting:** Procedures take place in hospital operating theatres with anaesthesiology backup, and surgeons experienced across reconstructive body surgery manage contour, symmetry and skin-quality judgement calls.
