About this treatment

Cryotherapy at The Longevity Science Centrum delivers a rapid, controlled exposure to sub-zero temperatures — typically between -110°C and -140°C — for two to three minutes inside a cryotherapy cabin. Despite the extreme cold, the treatment is considered safe and well-tolerated when administered under professional supervision, as the dry air prevents the deep tissue freezing associated with ice baths.

The physiological cascade triggered by cold exposure is multifaceted. Core body temperature drops momentarily, prompting the body to redirect blood to vital organs. Upon exiting the chamber, vasodilation floods peripheral tissues with oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood, while the sudden temperature change stimulates the release of endorphins, norepinephrine, and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Benefits supported by clinical research include reduced chronic pain in conditions such as osteoarthritis and inflammatory rheumatic disease, accelerated muscle recovery after exercise, decreased DOMS (delayed-onset muscle soreness), improved skin tone via increased collagen production, metabolic uplift through thermogenic activation, and enhanced mood and energy. The clinic notes cryotherapy also increases Nitric Oxide Synthase activity, promoting…
