The ABI (ankle-brachial index) compares blood pressure in the arms and ankles over ten minutes to identify peripheral arterial disease and reduced lower-limb circulation. Spirometry measures lung volumes and airflow rates over five to ten minutes to assess for obstructive conditions such as asthma and COPD. Used together, the three tests provide a rapid, affordable cardiovascular-plus-respiratory snapshot for patients who want an evidence-based baseline.

Bone Density Scan (Densitometry / DEXA)
Bone densitometry at SPEA Olomouc measures bone mineral density (BMD) using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) to identify osteoporosis and quantify fracture risk. The clinic applies the validated FRAX questionnaire alongside the scan result to calculate the ten-year probability of a major osteoporotic fracture, giving a clinically actionable picture rather than a raw density number. The Air Flow system uses a controlled jet of fine powder and water to remove biofilm, staining from coffee, tea, tobacco, and food pigments, and early supragingival deposits from between teeth and along the gum line, reaching areas where scaling instruments cannot. The dental team at SPEA includes MUDr. Ivana Gavlíková and MUDr. Eva Janáčková and operates three in-building dental clinics. Professional hygiene is the recommended foundation before whitening, composite veneers, or implant placement.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)
SPEA Olomouc operates a multidetector multispiral CT scanner — a latest-generation helical CT capable of fast, high-resolution cross-sectional imaging of the brain, spine, chest, and abdomen. The CT department is staffed by four radiologists and five radiologic assistants and operates Monday to Thursday from 7:00 to 15:30. Every scan includes CD with digital images and a written radiologist report for your referring physician, with standard results within seven days and a STATIM track for urgent cases. Self-pay and international patients are accepted; pricing is available on request via the direct department line.

Blood Tests — Self-Pay Laboratory (ISO 15189)
SPEA Olomouc operates a fully accredited ČIA ISO 15189 laboratory (accreditation No. 8146, held since 2011) and opens it to self-pay patients who do not hold a Czech health insurance card or whose specific tests are not covered by their insurer. The laboratory runs Roche Cobas 6000 for biochemistry and immunochemistry, Beckman Coulter DxH 500 and 900 analysers for haematology, and a Ceveron Alfa platform for coagulation — offering more than 80 analytes including the full lipid panel (with Lp(a) added in September 2025), thyroid function (TSH, fT3, fT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG), liver enzymes, kidney function, HbA1c, tumour markers (AFP, CEA, CA 125, CA 15-3, CA 19-9), and hormone panels (FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, estradiol, cortisol). Blood collection is accepted Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 12:00, with STATIM urgent processing available until 15:00.

SPEA Olomouc's infusion centre provides physician-prescribed intravenous drip therapy in a climate-controlled, accessible room with reclining chairs and nurse call systems. Sessions last approximately 60 minutes and are administered by experienced medical personnel Monday to Thursday from 6:30 to 15:00 and Friday from 6:30 to 13:45. A referring physician (GP, neurologist, or internist) must complete a standardised referral form specifying the solution type, duration, frequency, known allergies, diagnoses, and current medications. The centre administers a range of commonly prescribed preparations including magnesium for muscle cramps and fatigue, B-complex neurotropic infusions, circulatory agents, analgesics, and muscle relaxants.

SPEA Olomouc's three dental clinics offer professional teeth whitening using the Opalescence system — one of the most clinically validated whitening brands. In-office Opalescence treatment delivers a concentrated hydrogen peroxide gel to the enamel in a controlled chairside session of approximately 60 to 90 minutes, lightening the tooth shade several levels in a single visit. The take-home kit provides custom-fitted trays and professional-strength carbamide peroxide gel for gradual whitening over one to two weeks at home. Internal whitening is also available for non-vital (root-treated) teeth that have darkened internally. All options are performed by the clinic's dental team, led by MUDr. Ivana Gavlíková and MUDr. Eva Janáčková.
