Whole Body Cryotherapy

Type

Cryotherapy

Duration

15 min

A whole-body cold exposure session where temperatures drop below −80°C for up to three minutes. The rapid cooling triggers vasoconstriction as the body works to protect its core temperature, redirecting blood flow to vital organs. On rewarming, enriched blood returns to the extremities, carrying oxygen and nutrients while endorphins and anti-inflammatory proteins are released.

Whole-body cryotherapy at Ritual Biohacking exposes the body to extremely cold, dry air — below −80°C — for up to three minutes. Unlike ice baths, which rely on conduction through water, cryotherapy chambers use dry cold that cools the skin surface rapidly without the sustained discomfort of water immersion. During the session, skin temperature drops sharply, activating temperature receptors that signal the brain to initiate a protective response. Blood vessels in the extremities constrict, drawing blood toward the core where it circulates around vital organs. This process enriches the blood with additional oxygen and nutrients. When you step out of the chamber, blood rushes back to the periphery, delivering those enriched resources throughout the body. The nervous system response includes a release of endorphins and norepinephrine, which many people experience as heightened alertness, improved mood, and reduced perception of pain. Anti-inflammatory proteins released during the cold exposure may help reduce swelling and support recovery from physical exertion. The total session time is approximately 15 minutes, which includes preparation, the active three-minute cold exposure, and a brief recovery period. First-time visitors receive a walkthrough of the chamber and a health screening before entry. Protective gear for extremities is provided by the studio.
