Wiener Privatklinik

Wiener Privatklinik is a 145-bed private hospital in Vienna's 9th district (Alsergrund), Austria's historic medical quarter adjacent to the Medical University of Vienna and AKH university hospital. Founded in 1871 as Sanatorium Loew by Dr. Anton Loew, it has operated continuously for over 150 years and has been managed by an independent group of physicians since 1995. The hospital brings together more than 300 collaborating physicians across 30+ medical specialties under one roof, supported by four fully equipped operating rooms, a complete diagnostic imaging suite (MRI, CT, PET/CT, SPECT, mammography, angiography), and specialty centres including the WPK Academy Central European Cancer Center, the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center with Elekta linear accelerator, and the Millesi Center for peripheral nerve surgery. It was the first private clinic in Austria to install a Da Vinci X surgical robot. Approximately 40-45% of the hospital's 7,000+ annual patients are international, drawn from over 20 countries. The international patient department provides personal escorts, airport transfers, hotel coordination, and interpreting services in 30+ languages. Wiener Privatklinik has been named to Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals list for six consecutive years (2021-2026) and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification from Quality Austria.
