Botulinum Toxin (Anti-Wrinkle Injections)

At West Art Esthetic each treated area is 2,000 Kč. The toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract, so the overlying skin stops creasing and existing lines soften. The same mechanism is used to treat hyperhidrosis — excessive sweating of the underarms, palms or soles — by quieting the nerves that drive the sweat glands. Treatment is quick, performed with ultra-fine needles and needs no anaesthetic; results appear within days.

Botulinum toxin type A is a purified protein that blocks the release of acetylcholine, the chemical messenger nerves use to tell a muscle to contract. Injected in tiny, precisely placed doses, it temporarily relaxes the specific muscle without affecting surrounding tissue. Because the lines being treated are caused by repeated muscle movement — frowning, raising the brows, squinting — relaxing those muscles smooths the skin above them and slows the deepening of the crease over time. At West Art Esthetic the treatment is priced per area at 2,000 Kč, with the most common zones being the horizontal forehead lines, the vertical frown lines between the brows (glabella) and the crow's feet at the outer eyes. MUDr. David Pupala, certified in botulinum toxin and a member of the Czech Medical Chamber, assesses muscle strength and movement patterns before dosing, calibrating the amount at each point to the individual rather than applying a fixed grid — this preserves natural expressiveness. The injection uses an ultra-fine needle; most people describe a brief sting rather than pain, and no anaesthetic is required. A session takes roughly 15–20 minutes. The same mechanism treats hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Here the toxin is injected into the sweat-gland-rich skin of the underarms, palms or soles rather than into muscle, blocking the nerve signal that activates the sweat glands and giving relief that typically lasts longer than the facial effect. First effects appear at 3–4 days and reach full effect at 2–3 weeks. The result generally lasts 4–6 months for facial muscles and often longer for hyperhidrosis, after which a top-up is needed; repeated sessions can gradually lengthen the interval as the muscle is retrained.
