VIDIA DIAGNOSTIKA's hepatitis serology testing covers the full spectrum of hepatitis viruses with individual and combined panel options. The comprehensive Hepatitis B panel — six markers including HBsAg, anti-HBs, HBeAg, anti-HBe, anti-HBc IgM and anti-HBc total — provides a complete picture of acute infection, immunity status and viral activity at 3,494 Kč. Hepatitis A, C, D and E serology are available individually. All samples are processed in VIDIA's virology department under MUDr. Dana Hrubá at the ČIA-accredited central laboratory.
Hepatitis serology at VIDIA DIAGNOSTIKA spans all five major hepatitis viruses with a flexible testing menu allowing both comprehensive panel testing and targeted individual marker orders, depending on the clinical question. The Hepatitis B six-marker panel (3,494 Kč, self-payer incl. VAT) is the most commonly ordered group test for hepatitis B assessment. It includes: HBsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen — positive in both acute and chronic infection); anti-HBs (surface antibody — positive in vaccine-induced immunity and after resolved infection); HBeAg (e-antigen — marker of active viral replication and high infectivity); anti-HBe (e-antibody — associated with lower replicative activity, typically appearing as HBeAg clears); anti-HBc IgM (core antibody IgM class — indicates acute or recent infection); and anti-HBc total (IgM + IgG — remains positive for life after any hepatitis B exposure, whether resolved or chronic). Together these six markers allow the physician to classify the patient as: never exposed (all negative), vaccine-immune (anti-HBs positive only), naturally immune after resolved infection (anti-HBc total + anti-HBs positive), acutely infected (HBsAg positive, anti-HBc IgM positive), or chronically infected (HBsAg positive, anti-HBc total positive, anti-HBc IgM negative). For hepatitis A, VIDIA offers anti-HAV IgM (acute infection marker, 482 Kč) and anti-HAV IgG (immunity marker, 482 Kč) as separate tests. Anti-HCV (hepatitis C antibody, 482 Kč) screens for past or current hepatitis C exposure; a reactive result requires confirmatory HCV RNA PCR (available at VIDIA at 4,326 Kč) to determine active viraemia. Anti-HDV (hepatitis D, 521 Kč) is relevant only in hepatitis B surface antigen-positive individuals, since HDV is a defective virus requiring co-infection with HBV. Anti-HEV (IgM and IgG, 521 Kč each) covers hepatitis E, which is under-recognised in Central Europe despite an increasing seroprevalence, particularly relevant in organ transplant recipients and immunocompromised patients. Samples are processed in the VIDIA virology department under the direction of MUDr. Dana Hrubá. No fasting is required. Results are delivered via the patient portal. For patients requiring molecular hepatitis B monitoring (HBV DNA quantification, 3,494 Kč), this can be added to the same blood draw.
