VIDIA DIAGNOSTIKA's complete blood count with differential (Krevní obraz s diferenciálem) analyses red blood cells, white blood cells across five categories, platelets and haemoglobin in a single venous blood draw — the most fundamental haematological screen in clinical medicine. At 106 Kč including VAT, it is one of the most cost-effective private blood tests available in Prague, analysed in VIDIA's ČIA-accredited haematology department under the oversight of Ing. Martin Valkus.
The complete blood count with differential (CBC-diff) at VIDIA DIAGNOSTIKA is the haematological cornerstone of almost any clinical workup. The panel quantifies every major blood cell lineage and provides clinicians with a data-rich snapshot of the body's oxygen delivery, immune status and clotting capacity in a single tube of blood. The standard CBC portion measures haemoglobin (oxygen-carrying capacity), haematocrit (the proportion of blood volume occupied by red cells), mean corpuscular volume (MCV, which classifies anaemia as microcytic, normocytic or macrocytic), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), MCHC (mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration), red cell distribution width (RDW), total white blood cell count, platelet count and mean platelet volume (MPV). The differential component breaks down the white cell count into its five constituent populations: neutrophils (the frontline responders to bacterial infection), lymphocytes (orchestrators of adaptive immunity, elevated in viral infections), monocytes (tissue macrophage precursors), eosinophils (involved in allergic reactions and parasitic defence) and basophils (implicated in allergic and inflammatory signalling). Absolute and percentage values for each population allow the clinical pattern — infection, inflammation, allergy, haematological malignancy or bone marrow suppression — to be distinguished. At VIDIA DIAGNOSTIKA, the CBC-diff is performed on automated haematology analysers in the central laboratory under the oversight of Ing. Martin Valkus. The laboratory is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute (ČIA) continuously since 2010, with the current certificate dated November 2024. Samples collected at any of the 30 VIDIA collection sites are transported to the central laboratory in Praha 9 Libeň for analysis. A basic CBC without differential is available at 59 Kč for situations where a simple quantitative blood cell count suffices. Reticulocytes (85/95 Kč) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR/Sedimentace, 55/62 Kč) are listed as available add-on tests for more detailed haematological assessment — relevant when investigating chronic inflammatory disease, monitoring chemotherapy response or evaluating iron-deficiency anaemia recovery. No fasting is required for the CBC-diff; results are posted to the patient portal typically within a working day.
