Replacement of a single missing tooth with a titanium implant that acts as an artificial root, later restored with a ceramic crown. The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthetic and left to integrate before the final crown is fitted from an impression or digital scan. It restores chewing function and helps preserve the surrounding bone, and is planned from CBCT imaging taken at consultation.

About this treatment

A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth without involving the neighbouring teeth. At Stomatologia na Podzamczu the implant is a titanium post — a lightweight, durable and biocompatible material widely used in bone and dental implants — that is placed into the alveolar bone under local anaesthetic, with placement typically taking from thirty minutes up to a couple of hours depending on the site.

The treatment follows recognised stages. After surgical placement the implant is left to integrate with the jawbone, a process called osseointegration in which the bone fuses with the titanium surface to give the implant its long-term stability and to help maintain bone that would otherwise shrink after tooth loss.
