Lumbar Spine MRI

MRI of the lumbosacral spine on 3T or 1.5T evaluating discs, spinal canal, nerve roots, and facet joints for lower back pain and sciatica investigation.

The lumbar spine MRI at Skanmex examines L1 through S1 using sagittal T1, T2, and STIR sequences plus axial T2 images at each disc level. The examination detects disc herniations, spinal canal stenosis, facet arthropathy, spondylolisthesis, and cauda equina compression. At 850 PLN on the 3T scanner (750 PLN on 1.5T), patients can choose the field strength appropriate to their clinical question. The 3T offers enhanced detail for complex cases and subtle pathology, while the 1.5T is well-suited to straightforward disc and stenosis assessments. This is the most frequently requested spinal examination, addressing the region responsible for the majority of back pain presentations. Combined multi-section spine packages are available for patients with multilevel symptoms.
