Radiologie am Raschplatz is an independent radiology practice located in the centre of Hannover, a short walk from the Raschplatz tram stop. Founded in 1977 by the partnership now led by Dr. med. Marc Ewig and Dr. med. Timo Borberg, the practice has continuously invested in modern imaging technology across its nearly five decades of operation. The practice operates a 64-slice multislice CT scanner with dose-optimised spiral protocols, capable of acquiring 64 simultaneous image layers per rotation. This technology halves radiation exposure compared to older single-slice scanners and completes full-body region scans in seconds — a significant advantage for patients who are anxious or unable to hold still. Since 2022, AI-assisted post-processing accelerates image reconstruction and enhances quality, supporting faster and more reliable reporting. CT services cover every major body region: head (acute stroke, trauma, tumour), chest (lung nodules from 3 mm, pulmonary embolism), abdomen and pelvis (liver, kidneys, bowel, lymph nodes), spine (disc herniation, surgical planning), and extremities. Angio-CT produces three-dimensional vessel maps for aortic aneurysm assessment, peripheral vascular disease, and venous thrombosis without arterial probe insertion. Low-dose CT lung screening follows the federal BMUV guideline for smokers aged 50–75. Coronary calcium scoring offers a non-contrast cardiovascular risk screen for preventive health patients. The practice accepts statutory insured (GKV) patients with referral, private insurance patients, and self-pay patients. Separate appointment phone lines are provided for each group. Opening hours run Monday to Thursday 08:00–18:00 and Friday 08:00–13:00, with evening appointments available by arrangement.
