The PRIVAMED MamoCentrum in Plzeň is an accredited Czech mammography screening centre offering low-dose digital mammography and high-resolution breast ultrasound with clearly published self-pay prices from 700 Kč. Each examination includes two views per breast on the Mammomat Inspiration low-dose unit, immediate image reading by screening-accredited radiologists, a preliminary result discussed with the patient on the day, and — where findings are equivocal — same-day supplementary ultrasound on a top-category Canon Aplio scanner with high-resolution probes. Breast and axilla ultrasound is also available as a standalone examination, suitable for younger, pregnant or breastfeeding women where ultrasound is the preferred first-line modality, and a dedicated implant-check ultrasound is offered for women with breast implants. The centre keeps a screening register, performs targeted biopsies of suspicious lesions, and has direct referral pathways to breast clinics within the PRIVAMED hospital group.
About this treatment
Breast imaging at PRIVAMED is delivered by a dedicated, accredited screening centre (MamoCentrum) that opened in October 2017 within the hospital's modernised radiology department — one of the few imaging providers in the Plzeň region with a published self-pay price list for breast diagnostics.
Mammography — 700 Kč self-pay
The examination is performed on a Siemens Mammomat Inspiration unit using a significantly reduced radiation dose, sensitive enough to evaluate denser, younger breast tissue. Preparation required
Do not use antiperspirant, deodorant or body lotion on the décolletage, breasts or underarms on the day of the examination. Bring the date of your last screening mammogram (required for booking) and a referral if you have one. Allow extra time for the screening questionnaire and informed consent.

Self-pay price list valid from 1 January 2026: mammography 700 Kč; breast + axilla ultrasound 700 Kč for patients already registered at the PRIVAMED MamoCentrum or 1,000 Kč for new patients; breast implant ultrasound 1,000 Kč. Czech-insured women aged 45+ are entitled to a free screening mammogram every two years with a GP or gynaecologist referral — the self-pay prices apply outside the screening programme (younger women, shorter intervals, or no referral).
