A comprehensive 60-minute professional dental hygiene session at Premier Smile's central Prague clinic, performed by certified dental hygienist Klára Špoutilová DiS. The treatment includes a check of teeth and gum condition, removal of tartar above and below the gum line, removal of surface pigmentation, polishing with a special depuration paste, fluoridation, and personalised instruction on home-care technique with recommendations of suitable aids. Hygiene is particularly important before and during clear-aligner treatment, as aligners are worn ~22 hours a day and clean teeth are essential. A shorter 30-minute children's session is also available.
About this treatment
Professional dental hygiene removes the hardened plaque (tartar/calculus) and staining that home brushing cannot, protecting against gum disease and tooth decay — and it is a practical prerequisite for clear-aligner treatment, where aligners trap anything left on the tooth surface against the enamel for most of the day.
