About

MEDICON — RDG Budějovická is the dedicated radiodiagnostic centre within Poliklinika Budějovická, the largest privately-operated outpatient facility in Prague with approximately 40 medical specialties and 300 physicians on one campus. The imaging centre is located in the yellow building (žlutá budova), entrance 6, basement level — easily reached directly from metro line C at Budějovická station. The centre offers CT scanning (including angiography, enterography, colonography, and CT-guided peri-radicular therapy), MRI (brain, spine, joints, breast, enterography and angiography), digital X-ray, ultrasound with Doppler, and bone densitometry on a Hologic Discovery QDR. Equipment was co-funded by the EU OPPK programme and the facility is fully digitalised, connected to the ePACS inter-hospital imaging network, meaning your referring doctor can access results remotely. Booking times are typically within one week for CT and MRI; X-ray is walk-in for referred patients. Both CT and MRI use contrast media where clinically indicated — gadolinium for MRI (safe for patients with iodine allergy) and iodinated contrast for CT. All examinations are reported by specialist radiologists, and imaging is available on CD or via ePACS on request. Most procedures are covered by Czech public health insurance; self-pay pricing is available at the reception for non-insured patients.

MRI Scan (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MEDICON RDG Budějovická's MRI service provides soft-tissue, neurological, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging without ionising radiation. The centre performs brain, spine, joint, breast, and bowel MRI as well as MR angiography of cerebral arteries, the aortic arch, and peripheral vessels. Gadolinium contrast (not iodine-based) is used where indicated, making this option suitable for patients with iodine contrast allergies. Every examination is reported by a specialist radiologist and imaging is supplied on CD; results are also accessible by referring physicians via the ePACS inter-hospital digital network. Weekend appointments are available for scheduled patients. The centre is in the yellow building (žlutá budova), entrance 6, basement, a one-minute walk from Budějovická metro station on line C.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)

MEDICON RDG Budějovická's CT scanner delivers high-resolution three-dimensional imaging of the brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and vascular structures in a single session. The centre uses one of Prague's most advanced multi-detector CT systems, co-funded by the EU OPPK programme, and is fully connected to the ePACS inter-hospital digital network so your referring physician can access results remotely. Scans of the skeleton and sinuses require no preparation; contrast-enhanced studies (angiography, enterography, colonography) require at least four hours of fasting. The on-site radiologist produces a written report for every examination, and imaging can be provided on CD. Booking is typically within one week; urgent same-day referrals are accommodated where capacity allows. The centre is located in the yellow building, entrance 6, basement level — one minute from Budějovická metro station on line C.
