Oncological Preventive Examination

Type

Full Body Checkup

Duration

2 hours

A cancer-focused preventive screening built around the same audience as the comprehensive package — healthy people and relatives of cancer patients — but concentrated on oncology rather than a full internal-medicine work-up. It combines an oncologist's clinical examination and risk-focused history with skin assessment by dermatoscopy, breast, testicular or rectal examination as appropriate, a blood count with sedimentation rate, a stool occult-blood test, age- and sex-appropriate tumour markers, a chest X-ray and abdominal or pelvic ultrasound. The examination is completed in a single day and concludes with a written report. Its components are individually priced, so the screening can be tailored, anchored on the 1 500 Kč oncologist examination.

The Oncological Preventive Examination is the cancer-focused tier of screening at Onkologie Bona Dea. It shares the same purpose and audience as the comprehensive package — subjectively healthy, asymptomatic people and, especially, blood relatives of cancer patients who carry an elevated inherited risk — but it concentrates on the oncological elements rather than including the full breadth of internal-medicine blood chemistry. Because its parts are priced individually on the clinic's ceník, it can be assembled to suit the patient, with the oncologist's examination and consultation (1 500 Kč) as the anchor and additional tests added as clinically indicated. A typical screening runs for around an hour and a half to two hours in a single day. It opens with a detailed, risk-focused history and consultation with the oncologist, followed by a clinical examination that includes a skin survey with dermatoscopy of any suspicious lesions and, where appropriate, breast, testicular and rectal examination. Blood is drawn for a count and sedimentation rate, and a stool occult-blood test screens for early signs of bowel cancer. Tumour markers are chosen by age and sex — PSA and free PSA for men aged 45 and over, CA 125 for women, alongside CEA and CA 19-9 — and imaging adds a chest X-ray plus abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, with auxiliary imaging supplied by the partner practice MEDIGRAFO s.r.o. Preparation mirrors the comprehensive exam where the same tests are involved: attend fasting for the blood draw and abdominal ultrasound, and arrive with a full bladder if a pelvic scan is planned. After the results are collated, the oncologist reviews them with the patient and issues a written report with the findings, an individual risk assessment and follow-up recommendations. Patients who prefer a single fixed fee and the widest possible work-up can instead choose the 12 000 Kč Comprehensive Preventive Examination, which folds these oncological elements into a broader internal screening. As with all the clinic's screening, this is a preventive service for people without symptoms and does not replace diagnostic care where complaints already exist.
