The clinic's flagship cancer-prevention package — a comprehensive internal and oncological screening completed in a single day at the Lesná clinic. It pairs a detailed risk-focused consultation and clinical examination by the oncologist with a broad blood and urine work-up, stool occult-blood testing, age- and sex-appropriate tumour markers, and imaging (chest X-ray plus abdominal, pelvic and as-needed breast, testicular, thyroid or lymph-node ultrasound). Skin lesions are reviewed with a DermLite dermatoscope. It is designed for subjectively healthy people with no complaints and for blood relatives of cancer patients who carry an elevated risk, and concludes with a written report covering findings, risk assessment and follow-up advice.
The Comprehensive Preventive Examination is Onkologie Bona Dea's most complete screening, structured to meet the criteria of a full internal preventive check while focusing on the early detection of cancer. It is intended for people who feel well and have no symptoms, and particularly for blood relatives of cancer patients, who carry a higher inherited risk. The premise behind the clinic's motto — "better early than later" — is that most cancers are far more treatable when found before they cause symptoms, and that a single thorough screening can either provide reassurance or flag something for timely follow-up. The whole examination is completed in one day at the Lesná clinic and takes roughly one and a half to two hours. It begins with a detailed, risk-focused medical history and consultation with the oncologist, including questions about family cancer history, followed by a clinical physical examination that, where appropriate, covers the breasts, testes and a rectal examination. The doctor surveys the skin and uses a handheld dermatoscope to assess any suspicious moles or lesions. Blood is drawn for a wide work-up — a complete blood count, liver and kidney function, thyroid function, glucose metabolism, a cholesterol and lipid panel, mineral levels, inflammatory markers and sedimentation rate — and a urine sample is examined under the microscope, including for hidden blood. A stool occult-blood test screens for early signs of bowel cancer. Tumour markers are selected by age and sex: men aged 45 and over have CEA, PSA and CA 19-9, younger men have CEA and CA 19-9, and women have CEA, CA 125 and CA 19-9. Imaging includes a chest X-ray and abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, with breast, testicular, thyroid or lymph-node ultrasound added as needed; auxiliary imaging is provided by the partner practice MEDIGRAFO s.r.o. To prepare, patients attend fasting because of the blood draw and abdominal ultrasound, bring a morning urine sample, and arrive with a comfortably full bladder for the pelvic scan; unsweetened drinks are allowed and it helps to know the family cancer history in advance. After all the results are gathered, the oncologist holds a final consultation and the patient receives a detailed written report by post summarising the findings, an individual risk assessment and recommendations for any further investigation or the interval before the next preventive check. This is a screening service for healthy, asymptomatic people and is not a substitute for diagnostic care if symptoms are already present; anyone with active complaints is directed to appropriate medical assessment.
