APTOS Thread Lift

OK Medical holds official APTOS application centre status for the APTOS thread lift — a technique in which specially designed biodegradable threads are inserted subcutaneously via cannula under local anaesthesia to mechanically lift sagging facial and neck tissue. APTOS is the global market leader in thread-based lifting, and the threads produce two effects simultaneously: an immediate repositioning of descended tissue and a progressive improvement in skin tone, texture, colour, and hydration as the threads stimulate the surrounding tissue over subsequent weeks. Thread lifting works by introducing fine, barbed or cogged threads into the subcutaneous tissue plane where the facial support ligaments connect skin to deeper structures. The physical hooks or cones along each thread anchor to tissue and allow the physician to pull the thread, repositioning the overlying skin and fat compartments toward a more youthful position. Over the following weeks, the body responds to the thread material with a localized wound-healing response: fibroblast activity increases, new collagen is laid down around each thread, and the skin's own supportive architecture is reinforced. This secondary biostimulatory effect often accounts for the continuing improvement patients see between one and three months post-procedure.
