Radiesse is a calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) biostimulatory filler that works differently from hyaluronic acid — rather than adding immediate volume alone, its microsphere scaffold triggers the skin's own collagen and elastin production over the following weeks and months. OK Medical offers Radiesse 1.5 ml sessions administered by MUDr. Štěpánková for facial wrinkle reduction, facial contouring, and rejuvenation of the neck, décolletage, back of hands, elbows, and knees. Results are visible immediately with maximum effect at three months as new collagen forms, and typically persist for 12–18 months. Calcium hydroxyapatite is biocompatible — the same mineral that makes up bone — so no allergy testing is needed.
Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) is the mineral component of natural bone and teeth. In Radiesse, it is formulated as smooth microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. When injected, the carrier provides immediate volume while the CaHA microspheres act as a three-dimensional scaffold: fibroblasts migrate into and around the scaffold, depositing new collagen and elastin. Over weeks the carrier is absorbed, but the newly formed collagen network persists — a process sometimes called biostimulation or 'liquid lifting'. At OK Medical, MUDr. Štěpánková uses Radiesse 1.5 ml vials for a range of indications. On the face it addresses fine surface wrinkles, mid-face volume loss, and lower-face rejuvenation — areas where many practitioners consider it preferable to softer HA fillers because the collagen stimulus improves underlying skin quality rather than just filling the crease. It is particularly valued for the neck, décolletage, and hands, where conventional fillers can look or feel unnatural; Radiesse's biostimulatory mechanism improves skin texture holistically in these diffuse areas. The procedure follows a consultation to confirm indication and select injection depth and technique. Radiesse is injected via cannula or needle depending on area; topical or local anaesthesia may be used. The 1.5 ml syringe covers one defined zone; combination with additional zones or with Ultherapy HIFU is available at additional cost, and the clinic explicitly offers a Neck + Radiesse Skin Boost protocol at a combined price. Results onset immediately with soft tissue augmentation visible on the day, reaching their biological maximum at approximately three months as collagen remodelling completes. Duration is typically 12–18 months in the face and may extend beyond this on the hands and neck where movement is less intense. Preparation: same as for HA fillers — avoid blood thinners and NSAIDs 48 hours prior. Post-treatment: swelling and redness for one to three days; avoid vigorous activity, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight for 48 hours. Contraindications: allergy to any filler component, active infection, keloid history, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Because CaHA is a natural body substance, confirmed allergy is rare.
