PRP Plasma Therapy

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy at OK Medical uses Swiss RegenLab centrifuge technology — a system validated to achieve 85% platelet yield and 99.7% elimination of red blood cells, producing a highly concentrated growth-factor serum from the patient's own blood. A small blood sample is drawn, centrifuged in the RegenLab tube, and the resulting PRP is injected into the treatment area. Growth factors within the platelets — including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and EGF — stimulate fibroblast activity, collagen production, angiogenesis, and cellular regeneration. The result, building over weeks, is measurably improved skin quality, texture, hydration, and firmness. Treatment areas include the face, neck, décolletage, hands, above the knees, arms, and the scalp for hair growth support. A minimum of three sessions is recommended to form a 'regenerative course'.

PRP therapy — platelet-rich plasma — harnesses the body's own repair biology. Platelets are the blood's first responders to tissue damage: they aggregate at a wound site, release alpha granules containing growth factors, and signal local cells to begin the repair sequence. By concentrating platelets far above their normal blood concentration, PRP effectively delivers a potent regenerative stimulus without any foreign material. OK Medical uses Swiss RegenLab BCT tubes — a closed, sterile system that has been validated in multiple clinical studies for consistent platelet recovery. The 85% platelet yield means the PRP collected contains nearly all the platelets from the sampled blood volume. The 99.7% RBC (red blood cell) elimination prevents haemoglobin's pro-inflammatory effects from overwhelming the regenerative signal — a common quality issue with lower-grade centrifuge systems that produce red-coloured PRP with significant RBC contamination. The procedure: a standard venous blood draw (approximately 10–20 ml depending on the number of tubes needed) is taken from the arm. The sample is centrifuged immediately on-site using the RegenLab protocol; the resulting straw-coloured PRP is extracted under sterile conditions. Topical or local anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area; the PRP is then delivered via multiple fine-needle injections across the zone, or may be applied topically following microneedling (the two are frequently combined). Growth factors in the PRP alpha granules include: PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor — fibroblast and endothelial cell proliferation), TGF-β (transforming growth factor — collagen synthesis regulation), VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor — new blood vessel formation to improve local circulation), EGF (epidermal growth factor — epithelial cell renewal), and IGF (insulin-like growth factor — general tissue growth support). Collectively, these signals produce new collagen and elastin, improved tissue vascularity, accelerated cellular turnover, and hydration-retaining extracellular matrix renewal. Areas treated at OK Medical include the face (general rejuvenation and tone improvement), periorbital zone (fine lines, texture, and dark circles), neck and décolletage, back of hands, above-knee skin laxity, upper arms, post-laser and post-peel recovery acceleration, acne scars, stretch marks, and hair growth support on the scalp (the growth factors stimulate follicle activity in androgenetic alopecia). Results build progressively over four to six weeks after each session; three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart form the recommended regenerative course. Maintenance annually or biannually preserves the collagen scaffold built during the initial course. Contraindications: platelet dysfunction, anticoagulant therapy, active infection at the injection site, recent steroid injection to the same area, severe anaemia, and pregnancy.
