Jett Plasma Lift — Non-surgical Eyelid Tightening

OK Medical introduced the Jett Plasma Lift Medical device to České Budějovice in 2019 — the first clinic in the city to offer this technology — and upgraded to the second-generation Jett Plasma Lift Medical II in 2023. The device uses a 2 mm plasma-discharge tip that ionises the air between the tip and the skin surface, creating a plasma arc that precisely vaporises the outermost skin layer without cutting or bleeding. The new tissue that forms beneath the treated area is tighter, smoother, and more youthful. For upper and lower eyelids this creates a non-surgical alternative to blepharoplasty, addressing mild-to-moderate eyelid sagging without a scalpel. Maximum effect develops at approximately three months as new tissue matures. Local or topical anaesthesia is used; the procedure leaves small scab points that resolve over seven to fourteen days.

Plasma — the fourth state of matter — is generated at the Jett Plasma Lift Medical II device's 2 mm tip when the energy difference between the tip and the skin creates a micro-arc discharge. This arc carries enough thermal energy to sublimate (directly vaporise) the surface corneum cells without spreading heat laterally into surrounding tissue. The precision of this controlled ablation is its key advantage over laser or radiofrequency: only the intended microzones are destroyed, and the surrounding tissue is minimally disturbed. The physiological response follows a two-phase process. In the immediate phase, the treated micro-zones contract the collagen fibres in the underlying dermis — producing immediate visible skin tightening. In the regenerative phase (days to weeks), the destroyed tissue stimulates fibroblast activity, neo-collagen deposition, and new epidermal growth — resulting in progressively improving texture, firmness, and tone. Maximum biological effect is typically reached at three months. At OK Medical, MUDr. Kim Štěpánková performs Jett Plasma treatments using local anaesthetic injection or topical anaesthetic gel, depending on the area and patient preference. For non-surgical blepharoplasty (eyelid tightening), the upper eyelid is treated at 8,500 Kč per eyelid, the lower at 8,500 Kč, or both upper and lower together at 15,500 Kč. Only mild to moderate eyelid ptosis is suitable for this approach; a consultation is required to confirm candidacy — patients with more severe ptosis may be referred to the associated plastic surgeon (Dr. Tomáš Votruba) for surgical blepharoplasty. Beyond eyelid tightening, the device is used to treat age spots, fibromas, xanthelasmas (fatty eyelid deposits), facial spider veins, hypertrophic scars, surface wrinkles, and other skin lesions; prices for these indications are assessed individually at consultation. Post-treatment care: the clinic recommends application of Jett Serum Liftvital (available to purchase, 1,500 Kč) to the treated areas. Small scab points form at each treatment micro-zone and naturally resolve over seven to fourteen days; during this period avoid water on the area, sunscreen is essential, and makeup must not be applied until fully healed. Swelling, particularly around the eyes, is expected for the first 48–72 hours. Contraindications: active skin infection in the treatment zone, pacemaker, pregnancy, active skin inflammatory conditions, and photosensitizing medications. Eye protection must be worn throughout the eyelid procedure.
