Microneedling

Microneedling at OK Medical uses a motorised device fitted with fine needles that create thousands of precisely controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-injuries are too small to cause visible wounds but large enough to trigger the skin's innate repair cascade — fibroblast activation, growth factor release, and new collagen and elastin formation. The channels also temporarily open a pathway for active serums (including exosomes, available as an add-on) to reach the dermis directly, bypassing the skin barrier that limits topical application. Conditions addressed include fine lines, skin texture irregularities, acne scars, stretch marks, and general skin rejuvenation. A minimum of three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart is recommended for meaningful and lasting results.

The mechanism of microneedling is controlled mechanical stimulation of the dermis. A motorised handpiece oscillates fine needles at a set depth and frequency, creating a dense matrix of micro-punctures in the treated area. The needles penetrate the epidermis and reach the papillary dermis — the depth where collagen-producing fibroblasts reside — without removing tissue. Each puncture triggers a localised inflammatory response that clears damaged cells and initiates the proliferative phase of wound healing: fibroblasts migrate into the area, secrete procollagen, and lay down new collagen and elastin fibres. Simultaneously, new blood vessels form, improving local circulation and nutrient delivery. The result over a course of sessions is measurable improvement in skin thickness, firmness, surface texture, and scar depth. At OK Medical, the treatment is available as a standalone face procedure (2,500 Kč) or in combination with a chemical peel applied in the same appointment (3,000 Kč for the combined session) — the peel further exfoliates the surface while the needling stimulates the deeper layers. Additional body areas including the neck, décolletage, and hands can be treated in the same session for +500 Kč per zone. An exosomes serum (3,000 Kč add-on) can be applied immediately after needling, when the micro-channels are open — the growth-factor-rich vesicles penetrate directly to the dermis and may accelerate the regenerative response. Session procedure: topical anaesthetic cream is applied 30–45 minutes before treatment to maximise comfort. The practitioner passes the needling device across the skin in multiple directions to ensure even coverage. The face appears red and feels like moderate sunburn for approximately 48 hours — this is normal and reflects the intended inflammatory phase. Full effects build progressively over four to eight weeks as collagen matures. Protocol: a minimum of three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart is recommended for significant improvement in texture and scars. A maintenance session every six to twelve months supports long-term collagen levels. Post-treatment: avoid makeup for 48 hours; no swimming pools, saunas, or intense sun exposure during this period. Gentle skincare only; no retinoids, acids, or actives for five to seven days. Sun protection (SPF 30+) is essential during the healing phase. Contraindications: active acne breakout or skin infection at the treatment site, rosacea in the active inflammatory phase, eczema, psoriasis, keloid tendency, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, and isotretinoin use within 6 months.
