Mesotherapy

Type

Mesotherapy

Duration

30 min

Mesotherapy at OK Medical delivers personalised cocktails of unlinked hyaluronic acid, vitamins, plasma, and rejuvenating active ingredients directly into the dermis via microinjections — bypassing the skin barrier that limits topical skincare. Unlike filler HA (which is cross-linked and volumising), mesotherapy HA is thin and unlinked, spreading broadly through the dermis to improve hydration, firmness, and luminosity across entire zones rather than filling specific creases. The technique also allows addition of polynucleotides (DNA fragments that stimulate fibroblast activity) and exosomes (growth factor-rich cell signalling particles) for enhanced regeneration. Sessions last approximately 30 minutes; four sessions spaced for optimal long-term results.

The principle of mesotherapy is delivery: the skin's stratum corneum blocks most large molecules from penetrating on their own, but a fine needle passed into the dermis deposits active ingredients exactly where they can reach fibroblasts, collagen matrices, and the extracellular water-binding structures. At OK Medical the injectable cocktails are chosen per patient and indication, not standardised for every case. Core cocktail options include unlinked low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid for broad-zone hydration, vitamin complexes (B-vitamins, antioxidants) for metabolic support of skin cells, and autologous plasma (from the patient's own blood, containing natural growth factors). Advanced options added to the clinic's menu include polynucleotides — highly purified fragments of DNA from salmon sperm that directly stimulate fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis — and exosomes, which are nano-sized extracellular vesicles packed with growth factors and signalling proteins that communicate with surrounding cells to accelerate regeneration. Treatment areas reflect both common aging concerns and specific conditions. The face (general rejuvenation), the periorbital zone (fine lines and dark circles, using the RRS Eyes product), and postpartum abdominal stretch marks are among the indications addressed. Pigmentation spots can be targeted with appropriate whitening compounds in the cocktail. A standard mesotherapy session takes approximately 30 minutes. The injections are delivered via multiple micro-punctures across the treatment zone using a fine needle. Some patients describe the sensation as mild pin-pricks; topical anaesthetic cream can be applied beforehand on request. The treatment leaves the skin slightly red and may show small wheals at injection sites for a few hours. Post-treatment instructions: avoid makeup, swimming pools, saunas, and direct sun for two days. Full effects — deeper tissue hydration, improved firmness, more even tone — build progressively over two weeks as the injected ingredients are taken up by dermal cells. An optimal course comprises four sessions, typically spaced three to four weeks apart, with maintenance treatment annually or twice yearly. Contraindications: active skin infection at the treatment site, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, and known allergy to any cocktail component. Polynucleotide treatments are not suitable for patients with fish or shellfish allergy.
