Chemical peels at OK Medical use glycolic acid (15–70% concentration) and other acid formulations — including Easy Phytic, Droxy + Azaelic compound, and TCA — to create controlled exfoliation of the outermost skin layers. The practitioner selects concentration and contact time to achieve superficial, medium, or deep exfoliation depending on the indication and skin type. As the peeled layer sheds over subsequent days, the underlying skin emerges smoother, with improved clarity, reduced pigmentation, and diminished fine lines. Regular chemical peeling over a course of sessions can visibly reduce acne scarring and surface irregularities. A specialised intimate-area peel is also available at 3,400 Kč.
Chemical peeling uses exothermic acid reactions to create controlled damage at a defined depth in the skin. The acid penetrates and disrupts the bonds holding dead and damaged corneocytes together, causing them to shed in a process called desquamation. Simultaneously, the mild injury signal activates epidermal renewal from the basal layer, pushing fresh keratinocytes toward the surface. Repeated peeling stimulates the underlying dermis to increase collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis, producing gradual improvements in skin thickness and texture beyond what exfoliation alone explains. At OK Medical, three main peel categories are offered. The Easy Phytic Peel (1,500 Kč) is a superficial phytic acid formulation derived from cereal grains — extremely mild and suitable for sensitive skin or as an introductory peel; it brightens the complexion and reduces oiliness without visible peeling. The Easy Droxy + Azaelic compound (1,500 Kč) combines hydroxy acids with azelaic acid; azelaic acid specifically targets melanin-producing melanocytes, making this combination effective for pigmentation irregularities and post-inflammatory marks from acne. The TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peel (2,300–2,800 Kč) penetrates to the papillary or mid-reticular dermis depending on concentration, producing visible frosting on the skin surface during application. TCA peels are the most effective at the clinic for deep wrinkle reduction, moderate acne scarring, and significant sun damage — but require seven to fourteen days of visible peeling and crusting. Glycolic acid (the broader chemical family described on the clinic's treatment page) covers concentrations from 15% (superficial, no visible peeling) to 70% (medium-depth, visible exfoliation). The practitioner determines appropriate concentration based on Fitzpatrick skin type, prior peel history, and desired outcome. A specialised chemical peel for the intimate area is offered at 3,400 Kč — using a formulation appropriate for mucosal-adjacent skin to address pigmentation, texture changes, and post-pregnancy alterations. Procedure: the face is cleansed and degreased; the acid is applied evenly with a fan brush; the practitioner monitors the skin's response (timing, visible frosting for TCA) and neutralises the acid at the appropriate endpoint; the skin is soothed with a calming mask. The session takes approximately 20–30 minutes. Post-treatment: visible peeling lasts two to seven days depending on depth. During this period: no picking or peeling skin manually, no exfoliating products, SPF 30+ sunscreen mandatory, no swimming or sauna, keep skin hydrated with gentle emollients. Full healing and collagen benefit builds over four to six weeks. Contraindications: active herpes simplex or cold sore (pre-treat prophylactically), active acne cysts (not comedonal acne), eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area, known acid sensitivity, pregnancy, and isotretinoin use within 12 months.
