Abdomen MRI

Duration

What's included

4 deliverables in this treatment

  • MRI of one abdominal region (liver, pancreas, kidneys) or MRCP
  • Written radiologist report
  • Imaging on CD or flash drive
  • Primovist liver-specific contrast available where indicated

Self-pay abdominal MRI at Neurofyzionet's Brno MRI centre covers the liver, pancreas and kidneys plus MRCP — non-invasive imaging of the bile ducts and pancreatic duct — at a flat 3,000 Kč per region with the report and imaging media included. The centre offers the hepatobiliary-specific Primovist contrast agent (additional 4,000 Kč) for characterising liver and pancreatic lesions, a capability usually confined to hospital radiology departments. Contrast decisions are made by the reporting radiologist; a physician referral specifying the organ is required.

About this treatment

Abdominal MRI provides radiation-free, high-contrast imaging of the solid abdominal organs and is the preferred modality for characterising liver lesions, investigating pancreatic and biliary disease and assessing kidney masses found on ultrasound.

Examinations offered

Neurofyzionet's spectrum covers MRI of the liver, pancreas and kidneys, and MRCP — magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, which maps the bile ducts and pancreatic duct without the endoscopy or contrast injection required by ERCP. MRCP is the standard non-invasive work-up for suspected gallstones in the bile duct, biliary strictures and pancreatic duct abnormalities.
