Contrast-enhanced CT at Nemocnica Bory uses intravenous iodinated contrast medium to improve visualisation of vascular structures, soft-tissue lesions, and inflammatory processes. The contrast agent highlights differences in tissue perfusion that are invisible on native (non-contrast) images — essential for characterising liver lesions, staging malignancies, assessing soft-tissue tumours, and evaluating vascular pathology. The pricing structure separates the contrast agent cost (EUR 90) from the base CT examination fee, allowing the total to be calculated transparently. A contrast-enhanced chest CT costs EUR 225 (EUR 135 base + EUR 90 contrast); abdomen and pelvis together EUR 385; neck plus chest EUR 365; and a comprehensive neck-to-pelvis contrast study EUR 705. The CT polytrauma protocol — used for comprehensive trauma assessment of multiple body regions simultaneously — is priced at EUR 400. Before a contrast-enhanced CT, patients should inform the radiology team about known allergies, kidney disease, diabetes (particularly metformin use), thyroid conditions, and previous contrast reactions. Kidney function tests (serum creatinine) may be requested. The hospital can provide pre-medication protocols for patients with mild prior contrast reactions, administered on-site before the scan. As with all radiology at Nemocnica Bory, a written physician referral with stamp and signature is required. Appointments are booked via the contact centre on +421 950 105 510. The radiology department is located within the main hospital building, with changing facilities available. Most contrast-enhanced studies are completed within 40 minutes including preparation and post-scan monitoring.
