Na Homolce Hospital

Na Homolce Hospital (Nemocnice Na Homolce) is one of Central Europe's leading specialised clinical hospitals, internationally recognised for cardiovascular and neurological care. Located in the Motol district of Prague 5, it holds Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation — among the most rigorous healthcare quality standards globally — and has been officially designated a Comprehensive Cardiovascular Centre by Czech health authorities. The hospital's Radiology Department operates a dual-source Siemens Somatom Flash CT scanner, equipped with SAPHIRE interactive reconstruction technology for low-radiation cardiac imaging. The department explicitly performs cardiac CT and CT coronarographies (coronary CT angiography) as part of its cardiovascular imaging programme, using ECG gating and dual-energy scanning protocols that are standard at major European cardiac centres. At the core of the hospital's international reputation is the PET Centre, established in 1999 as the first positron emission tomography facility in the Czech Republic. With two PET/CT scanners and a PET/MR scanner added in 2023, it is one of the largest PET centres in Europe, performing over 10,000 hybrid imaging examinations annually. The centre is an IAEA Model Project, certifying it as a global reference site for nuclear medicine quality. The Cardiology Clinic — since February 2025 a joint academic department with Charles University's 1st Faculty of Medicine — performs 3,500 catheterisation procedures per year and is a European leader in electrophysiology, structural heart disease intervention, and cardiac device implantation. International patients are served by a dedicated Foreign Patients department with English-speaking staff available Monday to Friday.
