A blood test measuring anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), a marker used to estimate ovarian reserve as part of female fertility assessment. Available as a walk-in self-pay test at MZ-Biochem.
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is produced by the small follicles in the ovaries and gives an estimate of ovarian reserve — broadly, the remaining pool of eggs. Unlike some hormones, AMH can be measured at any point in the menstrual cycle, which makes it a convenient single test for women who want insight into their fertility, are considering when to start a family, or are planning fertility treatment or egg freezing. MZ-Biochem offers the test on a self-pay basis without a referral. AMH is one input among several in fertility assessment and does not predict natural conception on its own; results should be discussed with a gynaecologist or fertility specialist, who can place them in the context of age, cycle history and any other findings.
