A panel of inflammatory and rheumatic markers — including CRP, sedimentation rate, rheumatoid factor and related tests — used to investigate joint pain and inflammatory conditions. Available as a walk-in self-pay test at MZ-Biochem.

About this treatment

Persistent joint pain, stiffness and swelling can signal an inflammatory or rheumatic condition that benefits from early identification. This panel groups markers of systemic inflammation — C-reactive protein (CRP) and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) — with rheumatology-oriented tests such as rheumatoid factor and ASLO, helping to distinguish inflammatory from non-inflammatory causes and to flag whether referral to a specialist is warranted. MZ-Biochem offers the panel on a self-pay basis without a referral, which is useful for people with unexplained joint symptoms who want an initial work-up. These markers are supportive rather than definitive: raised inflammation has many causes, and a rheumatic diagnosis depends on the full clinical picture. Results should be interpreted by a physician, ideally a rheumatologist where an inflammatory condition is suspected.
