A dedicated brain MRI performed on a 3-Tesla GE Signa Architect AIR scanner, delivering high-resolution imaging of brain parenchyma, ventricles, white matter tracts, and intracranial vascular structures. The 3T field strength provides superior signal-to-noise ratio for detecting subtle neurological pathology. Optional contrast enhancement and specialised protocols for epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and dementia are available.

The standard brain protocol evaluates cortical and subcortical grey matter, ventricular morphology, white matter integrity, midline structures, posterior fossa, and the craniocervical junction. Supplementary sequences are available for specific clinical questions: arterial 3D-TOF angiography for vascular mapping, venous 3D-PC angiography, and intracranial 4D angiography for dynamic flow assessment. MR spectroscopy can be added for metabolic tissue characterisation. Specialised protocols address epilepsy (high-resolution hippocampal and temporal lobe sequences), multiple sclerosis (contrast-enhanced protocol optimised for periventricular and cortical lesion detection), and dementia (volumetric sequences for hippocampal and cortical thickness measurement). The clinic also offers a vasculitis protocol combining brain parenchymal imaging with MR angiography. Paediatric brain MRI is available for children aged 4 to 12 at a reduced rate. Gadolinium contrast uses the highest-quality non-dissociating formula.
