Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and shapes the canals and seals them, allowing a tooth that would otherwise need extraction to be kept. Medin uses modern endodontic equipment and warm gutta-percha filling techniques for a dense seal. Pricing is set by the number of canals in the tooth, with separate fees for retreating a tooth that was root-filled previously.

About this treatment

Endodontic, or root canal, treatment is carried out when the soft tissue (pulp) inside a tooth becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed — usually from deep decay, a crack or trauma. Left untreated this can cause pain and abscesses and often leads to losing the tooth. The aim of treatment is to remove the diseased pulp, disinfect and shape the fine canals inside the roots, and fill them to seal the space, so the natural tooth can be saved and restored.

At Medin Stomatologia the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic using modern endodontic instruments, with the canals filled using a warm gutta-percha technique that adapts closely to the canal walls for a dense seal.
