Ceramic Veneers

Medifis Clinic creates natural-looking ceramic veneers from CZK 12,000 per tooth — thin, custom porcelain shells bonded to the front of the teeth to improve their colour, shape, alignment and proportions. Designed from a digital 3D scan and milled in the clinic's own CAD/CAM laboratory, veneers can close small gaps, mask deep discolouration that whitening cannot lift, and refine chipped or worn front teeth, with minimal removal of natural tooth. The dentists prepare and fit veneers under operating microscopes for precise, well-sealed margins, and because the lab is on site the shape and shade can be controlled closely across a multi-tooth smile makeover.

Ceramic veneers at Medifis Clinic are thin, custom-made porcelain shells bonded to the visible front surface of the teeth to transform their appearance — improving colour, shape, length, alignment and the overall proportions of a smile. Unlike a crown, a veneer covers only the front of the tooth and so generally requires removing only a small amount of enamel, making it a more conservative route to a cosmetic change. They are particularly effective for problems that whitening cannot solve, such as deep intrinsic discolouration (including tetracycline staining), and for closing small gaps, evening out minor crowding, lengthening worn teeth, and repairing chips on front teeth. The process starts with a smile assessment and a digital 3D scan, from which the veneers are designed in software so the final shape and proportions can be visualised before any treatment. The teeth are then minimally prepared under an operating microscope, which lets the dentist keep the margin precise and supragingival where possible for healthier gums and a better long-term seal. The veneers are milled from ceramic in the clinic's in-house CAD/CAM laboratory, where the shade and surface character are controlled to match the patient's other teeth or the desired makeover shade; having the technician work on site is a real advantage for a multi-tooth case, where consistency of colour and shape across the whole smile matters. Each veneer is then bonded individually to the tooth with a strong adhesive resin and the bite is checked. Veneers suit adults with healthy teeth and gums who want a cosmetic improvement to their front teeth and have realistic, well-discussed goals; they are best avoided where there is significant clenching or grinding without a protective splint, or where teeth are too broken down to support a veneer (a crown is then more appropriate). Because a small amount of enamel is removed, veneers are considered a long-term commitment. After fitting they are cared for like natural teeth — normal brushing and flossing, regular hygiene visits, and avoiding biting hard objects or using teeth as tools — and a night guard may be advised for grinders. With good care, ceramic veneers keep their colour and translucency for many years, since porcelain resists staining better than natural enamel.
