ALEX (Allergy Explorer) at MEDEOR laboratoře is a comprehensive self-pay molecular allergy blood test in Přerov that screens for sensitisation to several hundred allergen components in a single sample. It helps map exactly which allergens drive symptoms — from pollen and foods to animals and mites — with no referral needed.

About this treatment

Conventional allergy testing checks one allergen at a time, which is slow and incomplete for people with multiple or unclear triggers. The ALEX (Allergy Explorer) test takes a molecular, multiplex approach, screening a single blood sample against several hundred allergen extracts and individual molecular components at once.

The test measures specific IgE antibodies and total IgE, identifying sensitisation across the major allergen groups: pollens (grasses, trees, weeds), house-dust mites, animal dander, moulds, insect venoms, and a wide range of foods (milk, egg, nuts, fish, shellfish, fruits and more). Crucially, its component-resolved design can distinguish genuine primary sensitisation from cross-reactivity, helping clarify which exposures are most likely to cause real…

The sample is processed within the Vaše laboratoře group network, with results returned and available for interpretation by the laboratory team or a referring allergist. No GP referral is required to order the test. Because it maps a very broad allergen panel in one draw, ALEX is especially valuable for people with complex, multiple or unexplained allergic symptoms.
