A structured second opinion from a Masarykův onkologický ústav clinical oncologist, based on the medical records the patient supplies — diagnostic reports, hospitalisation summaries, diagnoses and proposed treatment plan. It is a documentary review rather than a clinical examination, useful before committing to a treatment plan made elsewhere. The institute also offers expert histology second-readings of tissue samples, priced by case complexity from a small biopsy through to comparison of multiple tumour foci. Provided within a JCI-accredited, OECI-designated comprehensive cancer centre. Note that MOÚ does not re-read CT, MR or PET-CT imaging done at other facilities.
About this treatment
A second medical opinion at MOÚ gives patients an independent expert review of an existing cancer diagnosis and treatment plan before they commit to a course of care. It is aimed at people — including international patients — who have been diagnosed or had a treatment proposed elsewhere and want a second, specialist perspective from one of Europe's OECI-designated comprehensive cancer centres.
The core service is a clinical oncologist's review of the documentation the patient brings: outpatient and hospitalisation reports, the stated diagnosis, prior results and the proposed treatment plan. The oncologist assesses whether the diagnosis and plan are consistent with current standards and issues a documented opinion. Importantly, this is a records-based review and does not include a clinical examination — patients who also want to be examined…

These re-readings can confirm or revise a histological diagnosis that drives major…
