Type
Full Body Checkup
Duration
4 hours
A half-day, single-visit cancer-focused preventive screen at Czechia's national comprehensive cancer centre. The programme combines a broad blood panel, tumour markers, chest X-ray, abdominal and organ ultrasound, ECG and InBody body-composition analysis, finishing with a full clinical examination and written report by a clinical oncologist. Designed for self-payers and foreign patients who want a thorough one-appointment assessment rather than booking each test separately. Performed by MOÚ's specialist oncology and radiodiagnostic teams, with mammography substituted for breast ultrasound in women over 40 and an iFOBT bowel-cancer test included where no recent colonoscopy exists.
The Comprehensive Preventive Oncology Checkup ("Preventivní onkologická prohlídka pro každého") is Masarykův onkologický ústav's flagship self-payer programme — a structured, multi-station preventive assessment run inside a JCI-accredited comprehensive cancer centre. It is built for adults who want a single, thorough cancer-oriented health check in one visit, and is especially suited to self-payers, foreign patients without Czech insurance, and people with a family history of cancer. The visit begins with a blood draw feeding a wide laboratory panel: full blood count with differential; electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, magnesium); liver tests (bilirubin, AST, ALT, GGT, ALP, LDH); renal function (creatinine, urea, uric acid); glucose and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c); a full lipid profile; proteins with electrophoresis and a monoclonal-protein screen; inflammatory markers (ESR, CRP); 25-OH vitamin D; TSH; and a urinalysis. Age- and sex-appropriate tumour markers are added — CEA for all, PSA plus free PSA for men over 40, hCG and AFP for younger men, and CA 125 for women. Imaging stations include a chest X-ray (optional, and the only difference between the two price points), abdominal ultrasound, testicular ultrasound, and breast and axillary ultrasound — replaced by mammography for women over 40 who have not had one in the last two years. An ECG is recorded, an iFOBT faecal occult-blood test is provided where no colonoscopy has been done in the last three years, and an InBody analysis assesses active mass, fat ratio and metabolic-syndrome risk with interpretation. Every component is reviewed in a comprehensive examination by a clinical oncologist, who issues a final written report. The appointment runs roughly half a day across several stations; arrive fasting for the bloods and abdominal ultrasound, and bring any prior imaging or reports. There is no recovery period — results and the written assessment follow the visit, and any flagged findings can be channelled directly into the institute's diagnostic and oncology pathways. The programme is preventive screening rather than treatment; it is not a substitute for symptom-driven investigation, and a normal result does not exclude all disease. Prices are final and VAT-exempt; weekend and public-holiday slots carry a surcharge.
