CT angiography of the head, neck, chest, aorta, or abdominal vessels at LUX MED Diagnostyka Warsaw. Intravenous contrast maps the arterial and venous circulation in three-dimensional detail without catheter insertion. Available for cerebrovascular, pulmonary, aortic, and peripheral vascular indications.
CT angiography at LUX MED Diagnostyka's Kasprzaka 17 Warsaw centre uses rapid intravenous contrast injection combined with cardiac-gated or bolus-tracked CT acquisition to generate high-resolution three-dimensional images of the body's major blood vessels. The examination is non-invasive — no catheter is placed in the arteries — making it substantially safer than conventional diagnostic angiography while providing comparable anatomical detail. The Warsaw diagnostics centre offers CT angiography across the principal vascular territories. Head and neck angio-CT maps the carotid and vertebral arteries, the circle of Willis, and the intracranial venous sinuses; it is the primary non-invasive tool for detecting cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, carotid stenosis, and stroke-causing arterial occlusions. Chest angio-CT covers the pulmonary arteries (pulmonary embolism protocol), the thoracic aorta (aneurysm, dissection), and the coronary arteries in dedicated cardiac protocols. Abdominal angio-CT images the coeliac axis, superior and inferior mesenteric arteries, renal arteries, aorta, and iliac vessels; lower-limb run-off studies extend coverage to the femoral, popliteal, and pedal circulation. The procedure requires intravenous contrast — an iodine-based agent delivered through a cannula in the arm vein timed to the vascular phase of interest. Patients must fast for six hours beforehand and bring a creatinine result (not older than three months for those without kidney disease; not older than seven days for those with known renal impairment) to confirm the kidneys can clear the contrast agent safely. Metformin must be discontinued 48 hours before and after contrast administration. LUX MED Diagnostyka's specialist radiologists review every angiography study and produce a detailed written report documenting vessel calibre, stenosis grade, presence of occlusions, aneurysm morphology, and collateral pathways where relevant. Three-dimensional volume-rendered reconstructions supplement the axial dataset and are included with the report. Results are available through Portal Pacjenta within the standard reporting window. Physician referral is required under Polish Atomic Law. LUX MED's network of over 10,000 physicians can issue same-day referrals for patients who need one; independent private GPs are equally valid. The Kasprzaka 17 centre in Warsaw's Wola district is served by public transport and operates extended hours Monday to Friday.
