Laser Hair Removal (Candela GentleLASE PRO)

Permanent hair reduction using the Candela GentleLASE PRO alexandrite laser, an FDA-cleared USA-manufactured device used across Laser Esthetic's dermatology department. The system's selective photothermolysis targets melanin pigment in the hair shaft and destroys the follicle while the built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) protects the skin surface with a burst of cryogen milliseconds before each pulse. At least six sessions are recommended, spaced six to seven weeks apart to catch follicles in the active growth phase. Suitable for fair to medium skin tones with darker hair.

Laser hair removal at Laser Esthetic is performed with the Candela GentleLASE PRO, an alexandrite laser operating at 755 nm — the wavelength most selectively absorbed by eumelanin in dark hair. The Dynamic Cooling Device integrated into the handpiece sprays a cryogen burst onto the skin milliseconds before each laser pulse, cooling the epidermis and reducing discomfort without compromising follicle destruction. This combination makes the GentleLASE PRO one of the most widely used and evidence-backed platforms for permanent hair reduction, particularly on lighter skin phototypes. The physics is selective photothermolysis: light energy is absorbed predominantly by the pigmented hair shaft, converted to heat, and conducted down to the bulge region of the follicle where stem cells reside. Sufficient thermal damage there prevents regrowth. Because only follicles in the active growth (anagen) phase are susceptible, a series of sessions is required to treat each hair at the right moment — the clinic recommends a minimum of six sessions spaced six to seven weeks apart. Before each session hair should be shaved to approximately 0.5 mm above the skin surface; waxing or plucking in the four weeks prior is contraindicated because it removes the follicle the laser needs to target. Self-tanning or recent sun exposure should also be avoided. Treated skin is typically pink for a day or two; SPF 30–50 is advised for fourteen days post-session. Gray, white or very light blonde hair does not contain sufficient melanin and is not treatable. A consultation (350 Kč) confirms skin and hair type and sets realistic expectations.
