Type
Full Body Checkup
Duration
2 hours
KMI's foundational health screening covering physical measurements, body composition, comprehensive blood work across liver, pancreas, kidney, lipid, diabetes, inflammation, anaemia, and thyroid panels, tumour markers, urinalysis, chest X-ray, abdominal ultrasound, and a gastric screening option. This is the entry-level tier for visitors who want a thorough metabolic and organ assessment without advanced imaging.
The Standard Checkup at KMI's Gwanghwamun centre follows the Korean health screening model, which condenses a broad range of diagnostic tests into a structured half-day visit. The approach is considerably more thorough than standard annual physicals in most Western countries, and KMI's 40-year track record in this format has refined the patient flow into an efficient station-by-station process. Physical measurements and body composition analysis open the session, recording height, weight, BMI, waist circumference, and body fat percentage. These baseline metrics feed into the overall risk assessment and provide reference points for future visits. The blood work component covers a wide panel: complete blood count for anaemia and infection markers, liver function tests (AST, ALT, GGT, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin), pancreatic enzymes (amylase), kidney function (BUN, creatinine, eGFR), a full lipid profile (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides), fasting glucose and HbA1c for diabetes screening, inflammatory markers (ESR, CRP), thyroid function tests (TSH, free T4), and tumour markers including AFP, CEA, and CA 19-9. Hepatitis B surface antigen and antibody testing is standard. Chest X-ray evaluates lung fields, cardiac silhouette, and mediastinal structures. Abdominal ultrasound scans the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen for masses, cysts, stones, and fatty infiltration. Gastric screening offers three options: barium swallow imaging, gastroscopy, or a pepsinogen blood test, allowing patients to choose based on comfort and clinical need. Urinalysis screens ten parameters including protein, glucose, occult blood, and ketones. All results are compiled into an English-language report reviewed with the patient on the same day. The Gwanghwamun centre's multilingual staff handle registration, instructions at each station, and the results consultation, so no external interpreter is needed.
