Brain MRI at Klinika Dr. Pírka is performed on a Siemens Magnetom Sola 1.5T scanner in the hospital's purpose-built imaging pavilion, opened May 2023. The department is led by MUDr. Zuzana Ryznarová, Ph.D., who supervises all head and neck imaging protocols. A brain MRI at 1.5T produces detailed, high-contrast images of brain parenchyma, white matter tracts, ventricular system, cerebellum, and brainstem, and is the standard investigation for headaches, neurological symptoms, suspected stroke, dizziness, or memory concerns. The clinic serves both self-pay patients and those referred by neurologists or GPs, with priority scheduling available for private patients. Being embedded within a full multi-specialty hospital means neurology and orthopaedic consultants are available on the same site to review findings and plan next steps without the patient needing to travel.

MRI Scan — Joints & Soft Tissue
Klinika Dr. Pírka operates a Siemens Magnetom Sola 1.5T scanner in its dedicated MRI imaging pavilion, opened May 2023 — one of the most advanced mid-field systems available in the Central Bohemia region. Under the direction of MUDr. Zuzana Ryznarová, Ph.D., the department performs the full spectrum of musculoskeletal and soft-tissue MRI: all peripheral joints (knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, wrist, elbow), soft tissue masses, and ligament or tendon injuries. The closed-bore 1.5T magnet delivers higher signal-to-noise than lower-field open systems, producing sharper images of cartilage, menisci, and rotator cuff structures. Self-pay patients book directly via the MRI booking line and receive a written radiologist report; examinations are also covered by Czech public health insurance with a valid referral.

MRI Abdomen, Pelvis & Prostate
Klinika Dr. Pírka is an accredited prostate MRI screening facility and performs the full range of abdominal and pelvic MRI on its Siemens Magnetom Sola 1.5T — including liver assessment, MRCP (biliary and pancreatic duct imaging), abdominal organ survey, pelvic MRI, and multiparametric prostate MRI (mpMRI). The department, led by MUDr. Zuzana Ryznarová, Ph.D., opened in the purpose-built imaging pavilion in May 2023. Abdominal studies require specific preparation including fasting and in some cases an oral contrast agent (pineapple juice or similar bowel marker). Prostate MRI follows a strict 3-day ejaculation abstinence protocol to maximise image quality. Results are interpreted by MUDr. Ryznarová and provided as a written report included in the self-pay fee.

Spine MRI
Spine MRI at Klinika Dr. Pírka uses the Siemens Magnetom Sola 1.5T system in the hospital's 2023 imaging pavilion, led by MUDr. Zuzana Ryznarová, Ph.D. The department covers all three spinal segments — cervical (neck), thoracic (mid-back), and lumbar (lower back) — and is the imaging standard for disc herniation, spinal canal stenosis, nerve root compression, spondylosis, and pre-surgical planning. The 70 cm bore of the Sola provides a more comfortable experience for patients with acute back pain who need to remain still in the scanner. Being embedded in a full hospital with on-site neurology and orthopaedics means scan results can be rapidly acted upon without needing to transfer to another centre.
