Type
CT Scan
Duration
30 min
Comprehensive body CT scan (tomodensitométrie) covering one or more anatomical regions — abdomen, pelvis, spine, or musculoskeletal — on a modern multi-slice scanner. Results available same day via patient portal.
The CT scanner at Imagerie Médicale des Deux Rives uses X-ray tomography to generate cross-sectional images of internal structures with a resolution that conventional radiography cannot match. The technique is the gold standard for evaluating solid organs, vascular structures, bony anatomy, lymph nodes, and many soft-tissue pathologies across the abdomen, pelvis, spine, and musculoskeletal system. A typical single-region examination — for example, an abdominal CT or a pelvic CT — is completed in a few minutes of machine time. Multi-region protocols covering the thorax, abdomen, and pelvis together are performed in a single session and are used for cancer staging, polytrauma assessment, fever of unknown origin, and pre-operative planning. The scanner applies dose modulation to keep radiation exposure as low as diagnostically feasible while preserving image quality. Contrast-enhanced protocols are available whenever vascular or solid-organ assessment benefits from iodine contrast. The radiologist selects the protocol at the time of referral; patients with known iodine allergy or elevated creatinine should declare this when booking. Non-contrast protocols are used for calcium scoring, renal calculi, and certain musculoskeletal indications. The centre is co-located with Clinique Rhéna, Strasbourg's principal private hospital, enabling rapid multidisciplinary collaboration when imaging findings require urgent surgical or medical follow-up. Results are communicated through a secure online portal and can be transferred digitally to referring physicians in France, Germany, or Switzerland. Strasbourg is 20 minutes by train from Offenburg and under an hour from Freiburg im Breisgau, making the centre accessible to patients from Baden-Württemberg seeking quality imaging at French healthcare prices. A prescription from a GP — including a telemedicine consultation — is sufficient to book. International patients pay the Sector 1 CCAM tariff directly; no French health insurance is required. The appointment line (+33 3 69 06 07 08) and online Doctolib booking are both available from Monday to Friday.
