Duration
30 min
A thirty-minute private session in a full-spectrum infrared sauna cabin. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the surrounding air, infrared panels penetrate the skin directly, producing a deep sweat at lower ambient temperatures that many find more comfortable and easier to tolerate.
HEAT by Sophia Lie was founded as Scandinavia's first full-spectrum infrared sauna lounge, and the infrared sauna remains the studio's signature treatment. Each session takes place in a private cabin equipped with near-, mid-, and far-infrared panels that deliver heat across the full therapeutic spectrum. Near-infrared wavelengths are associated with skin health and cellular repair, mid-infrared with improved circulation, and far-infrared with deep tissue warming and detoxification through perspiration. The sauna operates at a lower ambient temperature than a traditional Finnish sauna — typically between 45 and 65 degrees Celsius — which makes the experience accessible to people who find conventional saunas uncomfortably hot. Despite the lower air temperature, the radiant heat penetrates several centimetres into tissue, producing a vigorous sweat response. Sessions are private, so guests control the experience at their own pace. Regular infrared sauna use has been studied for its potential benefits in cardiovascular conditioning, stress reduction, pain management, and skin health. The thirty-minute session length is designed to allow sufficient heat accumulation for a meaningful physiological response while remaining practical for visitors fitting the treatment into a busy schedule. Longer forty-five-minute sessions are also available for those seeking a more extended heat exposure.
