The visible part of an implant restoration, a ceramic crown is screwed or cemented onto a healed implant to complete the replacement tooth. At FROE the crown is designed and made in the clinic's own ESTODENT ceramic laboratory, so shade, shape and bite are matched to the surrounding teeth with the treating dentist and technician working side by side. This in-house workflow suits patients who want their implant restoration finished to a precise aesthetic.

Once a dental implant has integrated with the jawbone, it needs a crown to function and look like a natural tooth. The implant crown is the tooth-coloured ceramic restoration that attaches to the implant via a connecting abutment, and it is what you ultimately bite, chew and smile with. Getting its shape, shade and bite right is what makes an implant blend in, which is why the restorative stage is planned as carefully as the surgery. At FROE this stage takes place after the implant has healed. The dentist takes an impression or digital scan of the implant position, and the on-site ESTODENT laboratory fabricates the ceramic crown, allowing the technician and dentist to fine-tune colour and form together before it is fitted. The crown is then secured to the implant and the bite is checked and adjusted. Having the laboratory on the premises shortens the workflow and supports a close match to neighbouring teeth. An implant crown is associated with restored chewing comfort and a natural appearance, and is cleaned much like a natural tooth with brushing, interdental cleaning and regular hygiene visits. The clinic will confirm the right abutment and crown type for your case and review long-term care at the fitting appointment.
