Implant Crown (Screw-Retained)

Type

Crowns & Bridges

Duration

1 hour

The crown is the visible part of an implant-supported tooth, made to match the shape and shade of the natural teeth around it. At Exacto Clinic implant crowns are screw-retained, which keeps them retrievable for maintenance, and are produced with the support of an on-site dental laboratory. This stage follows successful integration of the implant and completes the restoration so the tooth can be used normally for eating and speaking.

An implant crown is the custom-made tooth that sits on top of an integrated dental implant, restoring both appearance and chewing function. At Exacto Clinic these crowns are screw-retained onto the implant rather than cemented, an approach that allows the restoration to be removed if servicing is ever required without damaging the underlying work. Designs are produced with the clinic's in-house laboratory, which helps with shade matching and fit and keeps the workflow under one roof. The crown stage is carried out once the implant has healed and bonded with the jawbone. Impressions or a digital scan capture the implant position, and the laboratory builds a crown — typically in a tooth-coloured ceramic — shaped to harmonise with the neighbouring teeth and the patient's bite. For patients replacing several adjacent teeth, an implant-supported bridge can be made, in which a pontic spans the gap between implant-borne units; this is priced per pontic. Where the implant was left fully buried to heal, a minor exposure procedure with a healing screw may be needed before crown work begins. The dentist confirms the timing, materials and total cost at review; good hygiene and regular check-ups are associated with long-lasting results from implant-borne crowns.
