A staged laser approach to improving the appearance of scars, matched to the scar's age and type. At Effect Clinic fresh scars are supported with the OPTANT soft laser to aid healing, older red or pigmented scars are treated with IPL, and raised hypertrophic or keloid scars are resurfaced with the fractional CO2 laser under local anaesthesia. Treatment starts from 1,000 Kč and is tailored at consultation.
Scars vary enormously — by age, colour, texture and how raised or depressed they are — so Effect Clinic uses different tools for different scars rather than a single technique. The right approach is chosen at consultation based on how the scar has matured. For new scars, generally one to six weeks old, the clinic uses the OPTANT soft laser, which delivers gentle red and blue light to support the natural healing process, calm inflammation and encourage tidier collagen formation. These sessions are brief and painless and are run at roughly one to two times per week over a course of at least five sessions, working alongside the body's own healing rather than ablating tissue. For older scars that remain red or pigmented, IPL is used to target the residual vascular and pigment components, fading discoloration over a course of treatments. For raised, hypertrophic or keloid scars, the fractional CO2 laser (Dream Pulse III) is used under local anaesthesia to resurface and remodel the scar tissue, often combined with injectable scar-softening agents to flatten and soften the scar further. Because the method depends on the scar, so does the experience: soft-laser sessions feel like gentle warmth with no downtime, while fractional CO2 resurfacing involves local anaesthesia and a short healing period with redness and crusting as the skin renews. Aftercare centres on keeping the area clean and protected from the sun, since healing scar tissue is prone to pigment change. Results develop gradually over weeks to months as collagen remodels; multiple sessions are usually needed for a meaningful change. The treatment suits adults wanting to improve the colour, texture or height of surgical, acne or injury scars. The physician confirms the scar type and the most appropriate technique at assessment.
