Retinol Rejuvenating Peel

Type

Chemical Peels

Duration

30 min

A superficial rejuvenating peel built around retinol, a vitamin-A derivative with antioxidant action that stimulates skin renewal, combined with bisabolol to soothe the skin and speed regeneration. At Derma Blansko it is used to soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve acne and uneven texture, and fade age and pigment spots for a more even tone. It is delivered as a series — usually three to four sessions about six weeks apart — and suits all skin types, including problematic skin.

A retinol peel is a superficial chemical peel that uses retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, to accelerate the skin's natural exfoliation and renewal. Retinol acts as an antioxidant and signals skin cells to turn over more quickly, which over a course of treatments can smooth the surface, soften fine lines, even out tone and improve the look of acne-prone skin. Derma Blansko's formulation also contains bisabolol, a calming agent that helps soothe the skin and supports faster, more comfortable regeneration after the peel. In the clinic the skin is cleansed and the retinol preparation is applied; superficial peels of this kind are well tolerated, and any visible flaking or light shedding tends to appear in the days afterwards as the renewed skin emerges. It is recommended as a series rather than a single treatment — typically three to four sessions spaced about six weeks apart — to build and maintain the result. The peel is offered for fine lines and wrinkles, acne, loss of firmness and rough texture, age and pigment spots, and uneven skin tone, and is suitable for all skin types, including more problematic or blemish-prone skin, with the dermatovenerologist confirming suitability first. Diligent daily sun protection is important during and after a course because freshly renewed skin is more sensitive to UV; the clinic advises avoiding strong sun exposure and using SPF throughout. It is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and active retinoids or strong exfoliants are paused around treatment as advised.
