General Dermatology Consultation

Type

Dermatology Consultation

Duration

20 min

A consultation with a board-certified dermatovenerologist covering the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, nails, hair and genitals in both children and adults. At Derma Blansko it serves as the entry point to the clinic — assessing a skin complaint, agreeing a treatment plan, and directing patients to the right procedure such as dermatoscopy, lesion removal or a peel. The examination is covered by Czech public health insurance for insured patients; uninsured and self-pay patients pay a fixed cash rate.

A general dermatology consultation at Derma Blansko is an appointment with a dermatovenerologist — a doctor specialising in the skin, nails, hair and the venereological (genital and sexually transmitted) conditions that fall within the field — for both children and adults. It is the natural starting point for any skin concern, from acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes and persistent itching to nail and hair problems, moles you are worried about, and suspected infections. The doctor takes a history, examines the affected area (using dermatoscopy where a mole or lesion needs a closer look), reaches a diagnosis and explains the options. From there the consultation leads naturally into the rest of the clinic's services: a monitoring plan or referral for a suspicious mole, electrocoagulation or cryotherapy for a benign growth, biostimulation laser to support a slow-healing or inflammatory problem, a peel or microneedling course for a corrective concern, or prescription medication and topical therapy where that is the right answer. The dermatovenerologist also advises on what is medically necessary — and therefore typically covered by Czech public health insurance — versus what is an elective, self-pay aesthetic choice. For insured patients the examination is covered by public health insurance; for uninsured or self-pay patients the rate is 1,000 Kč for an initial examination and 500 Kč for a follow-up, with a separate 300 Kč fee for a printed copy of medical records, payable in cash. Bringing a list of current medications and the history of the complaint helps the doctor reach a diagnosis efficiently.
