Vascular Laser (Velure S) for Capillaries & Spider Veins
Type
Laser
Duration
30 min
Laser treatment with the Velure S system to close off unwanted blood vessels in the skin — broken capillaries on the cheeks and nose, small spider veins and hemangiomas. The laser beam is absorbed by the blood in the targeted vessel, heating and sealing it so it fades from view, while sparing the surrounding skin. At DENIFE the Velure S vascular laser is used by the clinic's team to improve facial redness and visible vessels.
A vascular laser treats visible blood vessels in the skin — the broken capillaries (telangiectasia) that cause redness on the cheeks and around the nose, small spider veins, and benign vascular lesions such as cherry hemangiomas. The laser emits a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside the targeted vessel; this heats the vessel wall and seals it, after which the body gradually reabsorbs it and it fades from view, while the surrounding skin is left largely untouched. At DENIFE in Karlovy Vary this is performed with the Velure S laser, named in the clinic's price list. After a consultation and assessment of the vessels and skin type, the area is cleansed and the laser is passed over the targeted vessels; patients usually feel a brief warm snap with each pulse. Treated vessels may darken or disappear immediately and then continue to clear over the following days to weeks, and mild redness or slight swelling around the treated area is normal and short-lived. Larger or more extensive areas of facial redness may need a short course of sessions for the best clearance. Sun protection before and after treatment is important, and the treatment is avoided on tanned skin and in certain medical conditions, which are reviewed at consultation. Vascular laser suits adults bothered by facial redness, broken capillaries, small spider veins or benign vascular spots and wanting a clearer, more even complexion.
