Centrum Medyczne Damiana has operated Warsaw's first and longest-running private hospital since 1994 — giving its imaging department three decades of institutional CT experience. The on-site CT department at ul. Wałbrzyska 46 in the Mokotów district performs the full range of single-region diagnostic examinations: brain and head, thorax and chest, abdomen and pelvis, cervical spine, thoracic spine, and lumbar-sacral spine. Both native protocols and contrast-enhanced studies are offered, with thin-slice volumetric acquisition capable of generating multi-planar reconstructions and 3D renderings. A single-region CT scan is appropriate for a wide range of clinical questions. Head CT is used for stroke assessment, traumatic brain injury, space-occupying lesions, and chronic sinus disease. Chest CT evaluates pulmonary nodules, pleural effusions, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, and post-COVID changes. Abdominal and pelvic CT assesses liver, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal glands, bowel, and lymph nodes, and is routinely used in oncological staging and post-surgical surveillance. Spinal CT provides high-resolution bone detail for fracture characterisation, degenerative disease, and pre-operative planning when MRI is contraindicated. For contrast-enhanced studies, patients should fast for at least four hours before the appointment and bring a recent creatinine blood test result (taken within the previous month) to confirm adequate renal function. Patients on metformin or with thyroid disease should mention this at booking. Non-contrast studies carry no dietary restrictions. All patients should arrive 15 minutes early to complete the health questionnaire and consent form, and should wear metal-free clothing. The CT department is integrated with the broader hospital infrastructure — the same facility houses surgical theatres, outpatient clinics, endoscopy, and the IMC international coordination service. This integration means that a CT scan performed here can feed directly into a specialist consultation, surgical admission, or referral management without the patient needing to change providers. Radiologist reports are delivered as written documents with image files; an online results portal is also available. Both private self-pay and NFZ (national health fund) bookings are accepted. Private patients face shorter waiting times and can book directly via the hospital's online system (online24.damian.pl) or by calling the central registration line. International patients with private health insurance can be managed cashlessly through the IMC coordination service, which liaises directly with the insurer. Under Polish Atomic Law, a physician referral is required for all CT examinations; any doctor in active practice — including a private GP consulted before the scan — can provide one.
