Colliery Recovery's massage menu is built for active bodies: the core sports and regeneration massage targets muscle overload, stiffness and recovery after training, available in 60-, 90- and 120-minute formats. Alongside it the studio offers a deeply calming 60-minute relaxation massage, maderotherapy (a firm massage technique using contoured wooden tools, often chosen for circulation and cellulite-prone areas), cupping (vacuum therapy from the holistic-medicine tradition), and lymphatic massage to support the movement of lymphatic fluid and reduce puffiness. Masseurs include practitioners with over a decade of experience, and because the studio adjoins a CrossFit gym, techniques are constantly tested against real athletic recovery needs.
Massage is one of the oldest forms of therapy — relieving muscle tension and pain, supporting immune function, reducing fatigue, irritability and stress, and stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation. At Colliery Recovery, massage is treated as a core recovery tool rather than an occasional indulgence, with a menu structured around the needs of people who train. **Sports & regeneration massage (60 / 90 / 120 min):** The studio's flagship. The 60-minute session is the right choice for targeted work on muscle overload — typically the back, shoulders, hips or legs after heavy training weeks. The 90-minute format allows more comprehensive whole-body work, and the 120-minute session is the most complete option for maximum regeneration, combining deep work on problem areas with full-body flushing strokes. Therapists work with deep-tissue and classic sports techniques and can integrate Theragun percussion or RockBlades instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilisation where useful. **Relaxation massage (60 min):** Slower, flowing strokes aimed at whole-body and mental relaxation — suited to stress relief and sleep quality rather than targeted muscle work. **Maderotherapy (≈60 min):** An intensive massage technique using sculpted wooden tools rolled and pressed over the tissue. The firm, repetitive mechanical stimulation is popular for supporting local circulation and is commonly chosen for thighs, glutes and other cellulite-prone areas as well as general muscle work. **Cupping / vacuum therapy:** Suction cups applied to the skin create negative pressure that lifts the superficial tissue, with effects often felt immediately after the cups are removed. Cupping sits within complementary and holistic medicine; at Colliery it is performed by masseur Adam, who specialises in cupping and lymphatic techniques. **Lymphatic massage:** A gentle, rhythmic technique supporting the natural movement of lymph — the fluid that clears metabolic waste from body tissues. Chosen for puffiness, heavy legs, and recovery support; ask when booking. **The team:** Martin has been practising massage since 2011 and continues to expand his certifications; Adam specialises in cupping and lymphatic massage; Mirka brings a background in dance, handball and complex body care. All masseurs work alongside the physiotherapy team, so if a massage reveals an issue that needs clinical attention, the referral is one floor away. **Booking guidance:** Choose 60 minutes for one or two problem areas, 90 for whole-body work with focus zones, and 120 when you want both deep targeted treatment and complete full-body regeneration. Hydrate well after deeper sessions.
